Jim Kennon Barker, age 89, of Marietta passed away September 18, 2013. Private Family Services will be held at a later date. Mr. Barker was a native of Columbus and lived in Smyrna most of his life. After retiring from Lockheed Martin after 34 years, he moved to Florida. He served in the Marines during WWII. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #29 and a member of VFW in Palm Coast, FL and a member of Spring Street Baptist Church. Survivors include: wife, Fannie Barker of DeBary, FL; children: Linda (Ken) Hopkinson of DeBary, FL; Ila (Mike) Gaskin of Harrison, TN; Iris Goode of Marietta, GA; Jim (Marilyn) Barker of DeBary, FL; Dorothy Williams of Tyler, TX; Jerry Whitworth of Tyler, TX and Gloria Deen of Flagler Beach, FL; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
