Jack B. Hardy, 78, of Powder Springs, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013. A Service will be held 3:00PM Friday, September 20, 2013, at McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church in Powder Springs, with Rev. Tommy Willingham and Rev. Cindy Blocksidge officiating. Interment will be at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hardy was a lifelong resident of Powder Springs, graduate of McEachern High School in 1954, and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Atlanta Gas Light Company for thirty seven years. He was a member of McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church since 1940, and served on the finance and several committees, wherever he was needed. He was married to the love of his life since 1955. Mr. Hardy was survived by his wife, Jean Hardy of Powder Springs; three daughters, Jill Elaine Hardy of Covington, Shari Glen and husband, Gary, of Brunswick, Lisa Roberts and husband, Mike, of Powder Springs; two sisters, Martha Kate Goggins and Joy Scott, of Powder Springs; four grandchildren, Victoria More, Jennifer Roberts, Cathy Abbey, and Megan Roberts; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Hardy; brother, Robert Hardy; parents, Elmer and Gladys Hardy. Flowers are accepted and for those who wish, contributions may be made to McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church, www.mceachernumc.org. The family will receive friends 4-7PM, Thursday, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory Macland Chapel in Powder Springs. 770-943-1511.
