Pattie Rosette Simms of Acworth was arrested Sept. 3 by Cobb County police on a felony charge of child cruelty and two misdemeanors.

Simms is accused of striking her son multiple times, which resulted in a bruise to the left side of his face, the warrant stated.

The warrant said Simms also placed a cloth over her son’s nose and mouth, “as if to suffocate.”

The incident occurred on McEver Park Drive in front of Simms’ other son, the warrant stated.

Simms was released on a $10,000 bond.
