On Sept. 8, Margarita Monje of Acworth was arrested by Cobb County police on a felony count of aggravated assault with a weapon, and two simple battery misdemeanors.

The warrant stated that Monje assaulted a woman with a 10-inch kitchen knife, lunging and making several stabbing motions at her stomach, on Buckhollow Drive.

“(The woman) sustained a small bruise to the left side of her stomach where the knife struck her,” the warrant stated.

The warrant added that Monje “had consumed a large amount of alcohol” and struck the woman’s daughter several times upon the arms and chest. The incident also included Monje punching the woman several times before she was able to tackle Monje.

Monje was given a $15,000 bond, but has not been released.
