Carli Kayler and Elise Sandberg each drove in a pair of runs, with Kayler totaling three hits and a pair of doubles. Sandberg had two hits.
Brianna Michaud and Piper Wagner combined to allow just one hit from the circle. Wagner (7-0) threw four innings of hitless relief. Michaud allowed the three runs, though only one was earned.
As the region’s final unbeaten team, Lassiter will host one-loss Woodstock next. A win in their final region game would assure the Lady Trojans of the No. 1 seed for next month’s region tournament.
Kennesaw Mountain 7, Marietta 3: Down 3-1 after two innings, the Lady Mustangs took momentum away and won the Region 4AAAAAA home game.
Kathryn Woody (11-1) went the distance, striking out eight and walking two. She also helped her cause by driving in a run.
Lexi Bates was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
Kennesaw Mountain (14-1, 4-0) will host North Cobb on Thursday in a fundraising game for cancer research. A portion of gate proceeds and raffle sales will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and to a cancer research charity favored by faculty member Suzie Thrash.
The widow of Kennesaw City Councilman Bill Thrash, who died of bladder cancer in May, Suzie Thrash will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before Thursday’s game.
Allatoona 3, Paulding County 0: Hailey Reagor drove in a pair of runs, helping the Lady Buccaneers win the Region 5AAAAA home game.
Reagor finished with two doubles on the day, as did Dani Lewis.
Makenzie Colwart (7-2) pitched the shutout, striking out six and walking none.
Allatoona (11-5, 5-0) will travel Thursday to New Manchester.
Mount Paran Christian 8, Excel Christian 6: Caroline Reilly had her second multi-home run game of the season as she helped the Lady Eagles come from behind in a non-region game.
Reilly’s two-run homer in the fourth inning tied it up at 4-all after Excel took a 4-1 lead in the top of the frame. The Lady Eagles took the lead in the same inning as Chancy Cannon later hit a triple and came home on a Lauren Cargile single.
Reilly hit a solo home run in the fifth to extend the lead, Emily Harrell singled to score Cannon. In the sixth, Courtney McKenzie hit a one-out double, and back-to-back wild pitches brought her home.
McKenzie went 3-for-4 with two doubles, while Reilly was
3-for-4 with her two home runs and four RBIs. Anna Bueller was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Mount Paran (6-5) will play at Holy Innocents’ on Thursday.
South Cobb 11, Campbell 0 (5 inn.): The visiting Lady Eagles scored three in the third and six in the fourth to pull away in a Region 4AAAAAA game.
Becky Collins was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Terylyn Harris was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI and scored two runs. Emily Cargle was 2-for-2 and scored two runs.
Brittney Rhodes got the win for South Cobb (11-5), which will play in the Warrior Classic at North Cobb this weekend.
North Cobb 13, McEachern 0 (5 inn.): The Lady Warriors scored four runs in the first and four runs in the second, on their way to the Region 4AAAAAA win.
Bryanna Vasquez was 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and scored four runs. Casey Page was 2-for-2 and scored two runs, while Ericka Clifford was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Olivia Mould was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
North Cobb (11-6, 3-1) will play at Kennesaw Mountain on Thursday.
Allatoona sweeps area matches: The Lady Buccaneers beat Hiram (25-22, 25-16) and Lithia Springs (25-17, 25-16) in an Area 5AAAAA tri-match.
Katie Cory had 19 digs against Hiram, finishing with 29 overall. Jenna Usry and Jaslynn Gwyn both had four kills against Hiram and went on to finish with four more apiece against Lithia Springs.
Allatoona (5-5, 5-0) will play a tournament at Darlington this weekend.
Mount Paran beats more larger schools: The Lady Eagles swept a pair of Area 3AAAAAA schools, beating Hillgrove (25-10, 25-21) and Kennesaw Mountain (25-10, 21-25, 25-13).
Mount Paran had nine aces in the first set against Hillgrove.
Melissa Morris had 11 aces on the day, plus 17 kills to lead the way. Alex Konieczny had four aces and 24 assists, while Sarah Ramstack had four aces and 10 kills. Asher Ward led defensively with 22 digs.
Mount Paran (17-5) will play Greenforest Christian on Thursday in a best-of-five match.
Walker wins area openers: The Lady Wolverines beat Gordon Lee (25-19, 25-19) and North Cobb Christian (25-9, 25-22) to begin Area 4A play.
Brooke Warner had 24 kills and five blocks, while Sasha Fazylov collected 10 kills and 10 digs. Anna Chocallo posted 27 digs, Emma Graham chipped in with 14 digs and five aces, and Holland Martin tallied 41 assists. Jordan Tasman finished with 10 kills and 10 digs.
Walker (13-5, 2-0) will host Wheeler and Mount Pisgah Christian on Thursday.
Whitefield loses area matches: The Lady Wolfpack lost to Christian Heritage (25-22, 25-18) and Darlington (25-20, 26-24) in an Area 4A tri-match.
Audrey Garrett had six aces and seven kills, while Kate McPhail had 22 assists and six digs. Anna Long finished with eight kills and seven blocks, and Kelsey Butler had five kills and 12 digs.
Whitefield will travel to Fellowship Christian on Thursday for a tri-match that also includes Pebblebrook.
Loganville Christian 3, Dominion Christian 1: The Lady Knights won the second set to tie the match, but that’s as far as they could bring it in a 25-20, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20 setback.
Sabrina Johnston had five kills and 20 digs, while Lucy Niverson added 16 assists.
