DEAR EDITOR:

I noted with interest the story about the opposition to the proposed Isakson senior living center in east Cobb. My sister and her husband were east Cobb residents until about six years ago when they researched “high and low” for such facilities before selecting and moving into Park Springs, the Isakson one in Stone Mountain. We have since visited there many times and found it to be a very beautiful place with very tasteful decor on its buildings and lots of wonderful green space and multi-acre lake thereon. It greatly resembles a college campus.

It has single and duplex family dwellings along with some buildings up to four stories, to which some of the comments in your story objected, but it would seem that on a 50-plus acre campus, these would not be obnoxious and the developer would probably plant trees to mitigate that possible drawback.

They would most likely have moved into this one had it existed then. I’d hope there would be such a facility in Cobb when we reach that point in life in the not too distant future.
