Prep Roundup: Walker sweeps Pace play date

Walker swept all four of its matches at the Pace Academy play date Saturday to improve to 11-5 overall.

The Lady Wolverines topped Whitefield Academy (25-17, 25-9), King’s Ridge Christian (25-11, 25-11), Pace Academy (25-21, 25-21) and Paideia (25-20, 25-8).

Brooke Warner finished with 44 kills, 15 assists, 15 digs and three blocks. Sasha Fazylov added 29 kills, 11 aces and 18 digs.

Jordan Tasman collected 10 kills and 10 digs, Holland Martin added 10 aces and 49 assists and Emma Graham chipped in with 28 digs.

Walker will travel to North Cobb Christian on Tuesday to begin Area 4A competition with a tri-match that also includes Gordon Lee.

Whitefield drops three of four: The Lady Wolfpack’s lone win at a Pace Academy play date came against Mount Pisgah Christian (25-13, 25-19).

Whitefield lost matches to Walker (25-17, 25-10), King’s Ridge Christian (25-23, 20-25, 25-23) and Providence Christian (25-21, 25-23).

Whitefield (5-14) will host Darlington and Christian Heritage on Tuesday for a pair of Area 4A matches.

Late Friday

North Cobb splits at Block Party:
The Lady Warriors opened pool play of the Lovett Block Party with 15-25, 25-15, 15-4 loss to Marist, then responded with a 25-19, 25-17 sweep of Bluffton (S.C.).

Savanna Gonzales led North Cobb with 12 kills, while Kaitlyn Woodruff had 11 and Abby Miller eight to go with her 20 digs. Taylor Parrish had four aces.

Defensively, Tate Pember had 31 digs, and Lizzie Daniel blocked a pair of attacks.


Late Friday

King’s Way Christian 54, Shiloh Hills Christian 22:
The Challengers were held scoreless in the first quarter, setting the tone for the lopsided loss.

Jonny Jenkins led Shiloh Hills (1-2), rushing for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also threw a scoring pass to Dylan Winship.

Dylan Fields had 10 tackles, while Shane Lewis had eight tackles, a forced fumble and a recovered fumble.

Shiloh Hills will travel to Harvester Christian on Friday

Late Thursday

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy 43, Freedom Academy 0:
Mason Meadows was 10-for-14 for 176 yards and threw for three touchdowns with a broken left hand as the Saints won their home debut.

Elijah White led defensively with 13 tackles, and Asa Meadows added eight and a fumble recovery. They also had two interceptions by Nate Parsons, who returned one for a touchdown, and Thomas Gilbert also had a pick.

Luke Chauncey had five receptions for 101 yards and two touchdowns.

Isaiah Fichtner led in rushing with 74 yards.
