Following the final performance of “Footloose the Musical” at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre on Aug. 25, Patti and Van Pearlberg treated the entire cast, crew and production team to a cast party at their historic Marietta home. Everyone involved with the show attended including Tony Lacey and Christina Guilday, owners of Three 13 Salon Spa & Boutique, the official hair and make-up designers for the musical. Guests enjoyed refreshments catered by Patti and Susan Neimeyer.

More than 2,600 people attended one of the seven performances of the show at the Strand. Pearlberg will be featured in the Strand’s upcoming production of “Lend Me A Tenor” that opens in October.

Marietta Theatre Inc. presents the world premiere (outside of Texas, that is) of “The Heart of Tuna,” the latest from the folks that brought us “Greater Tuna,” the third smallest town in Texas where the Lions Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies.

“Greater Tuna” is the long-running Off-Broadway hit written back in 1981. “Greater Tuna” has since become one of the most produced plays in American theater history and has been critically and popularly acclaimed as a classic, its creators legendary, and its characters iconic.

“The Heart of Tuna” by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard runs from Sept. 11 to 15 at The Art Place Mountain View, 3330 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta.

“The Heart of Tuna” tells the story of the rocky romance of Tuna’s most famous couple, OKKK radio disc jockey Arles Struvie and the beleaguered but ever determined housewife Bertha Bumiller.
