Acworth police have arrested a man who allegedly sold an undercover officer Loqo, a kind of synthetic marijuana or spice.
Mohammad Chuodhry was arrested Aug. 3 after reportedly selling the officer the drug inside his store, Loqo Tobacco, 5100 Cherokee St., Acworth.
Police found a “large scale manufacturing and distribution operation” inside his home, according to an arrest warrant. Chuodhry is accused of selling the synthetic drug from his home and store.
Numerous chemicals, scales, heat presses, packaging materials, labels and raw synthetic materials were found inside his home, according to police. Chuodhry also had four garbage bags and cardboard boxes with packages of the synthetic material.
He is charged with felony manufacturing and felony of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
His brother, Asif Choudhry, was also arrested on charges of hindering the investigation. After seeing police in the store, he allegedly retrieved a safe containing $29,000 and told police he had been instructed to get the money if there was ever a “problem.”
