On Aug. 17, Amy and Greg Norris gathered friends at their historic Marietta home for an evening of barbecue and conversation. Guests came dressed in costume depicting their particular interests that included a cook, a hunter, two gardeners, two fishermen, two book readers, an Alabama fan, two golfers, a bell-ringer, an exerciser and two SCUBA divers — among others.

Margie and Rick Bauer, Cathy and Chris Brown, Jennine and Bill Duelge, Judy and Paul Elliott, Patty Pearlberg, Marsha and Karter Thomas, Jean Raker, Mandy and Brian Robinson, and Ann and Mark Roland were among the crowd.

Twenty-three members of the Campbell High School Class of 1956 and seven guests met for their annual “Get Together Luncheon” at Howard’s in Smyrna on Aug. 17. Most of those at the luncheon attended the old Smyrna Elementary or the old Fitzhugh Lee Elementary schools. The merger of the two schools became Campbell High School in 1952. Guests enjoyed sharing stories of their lives since adulthood 57 years ago.
