Janice Ray Jenkins, 62, of Marietta passed away July 27th at home. On the occasion of this her birthday, we celebrate her life. Janice is survived by her husband Jim Jenkins of Marietta, her daughter Amy McNeely Stone and son-in-law Mike Stone of Smyrna, her brother Nathan “Chip” Ray and wife Elizabeth Ray of Dallas and many relatives in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Born August 28, 1950 in Morgantown, West Va., Janice graduated from Waynesburg Central High School in 1968. Upon graduation, Janice embarked on a varied professional career. Janice was employed by the FBI in Washington, D.C. in education in Pennsylvania, in shopping center management in Roanoke, Va. And in mortgage Banking in Atlanta, Ga. Janice and Jim loved to travel, enjoying a multi-state U.S. trip and many happy vacations on St. George Island, Florida. We miss her generous heart, her fierce sense of humor and her agile mind. Always willing to help, Janice advised family and friends on financial, tax and real estate matters. She gave us unconditional love. Janice and Amy had a strong and special bond. They were a loving mother and daughter, and also best friends. Please join us at a reception in Janice’s honor Friday, August 30th 2013 at Atkins Park in Smyrna from 5pm-8pm.
