Prep Roundup: North Cobb holds on to get past North Paulding

North Cobb scored its runs in the fifth inning, just enough to win 3-2 on Wednesday at North Paulding.

Bryana Vazquez and Casey Page were each 2-for-4 with a triple. Vazquez also scored a run, while Page had an RBI.

Ericka Clifford was also 2-for-4, with Kelly Trimble contributing a double and an RBI.

Olivia Mould (1-1) pitched four innings of relief, allowing a run off two hits and striking out four.

North Cobb (2-2) will host a portion of Allatoona’s Buccaneer Bash on Friday, facing Jackson County and Union Grove.

Sprayberry 4, Woodland-Bartow 3: The Lady Yellow Jackets scored four runs in the first inning and made them stand as they won in a Buccaneer Bash game played at Woodland.

Charlie Smith led the way in the circle and at the plate. She pitched a complete game, allowing only five hits and one earned run while striking out three. Smith also had the big hit, a two-run triple in the first.

Caroline Curtis was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Julia Abney added an RBI single.

Sprayberry (4-3) will face Fannin County on Friday as the Buccaneer Bash continues at Woodland.


Late Tuesday

Mount Paran Christian earns sweep:
The Lady Eagles improved to 3-1 after beating Whitefield Academy (25-9, 25-12) and Our Lady of Mercy (25-17, 25-23).

Melissa Morris led Mount Paran with 10 kills, 14 digs and three aces. Caroline Cooks has nine kills and five blocks, while Sydney Murphy totaled 22 assists and nine aces. Sarah Ramstack added seven kills and Abby Darling chipped in three aces and five kills.

Mount Paran is at Sprayberry today for a tri-match that also includes Cherokee.
