Andrette Renee Francois of Marietta was arrested Aug. 14 on charges of impersonating an officer, driving with a suspended license, without insurance, with an expired tag and with improper display of her license plate.

According to the warrant, Francois was pulled over in a car near the intersection of Vaughn Road and Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw just before 11 a.m. for driving with an expired tag on the car.

When officers approached her car, they say she identified herself as a “sworn deputy sheriff” with the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office and displayed an expired credential with her photo on it.

“She had resigned in lieu of termination from the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office in October 2012,” the warrant states.

Upon further investigation, officers also learned that Francois’ driver’s license and car insurance were also expired.

She was released from the Cobb County jail on the same day on a $7,500 bond.
