Mrs. Thelma Elizabeth Voyles, age 100 years and 6 months, of Kennesaw, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013. The funeral service will be 2 PM, Saturday, August 17th in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Mike Woods and Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Newnan, GA. Mrs. Voyles was a former member of Powder Springs First Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 60 years. She is a current member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church. She served as a dietician at Fitzhugh Lee School before retiring after 20 years. Mrs. Voyles was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Albert W. Voyles. Survivors include her son, Don Voyles (Margie) of Thomaston, GA; daughters, Margaret Voyles Mitchell of Rutledge, GA, Catherine Voyles Beckett (Doug) of Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren, Rachel & Ritchie Tabachnick, Sara Haddow & Bill Liebel, Rebecca & Kevin Caravatt, Don Voyles, Jr., Sammy & Bobbie Mitchell, Carolyn & Ed Sutton, Billy & Beth Mitchell, Danny Beckett, Linda B. Weaver; 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great, great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Friday, August 16th at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta (770) 424-4924.
