Jack Duane Hibbs of Marietta was charged with four counts of child molestation after police say he engaged in sex acts with one of his students.
“According to detectives, the male victim (who was 15 years old at the time of the alleged crimes) recently reported to authorities that he had been molested at the family residence,” Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said in a statement.
The incidents occurred at the boy’s home in November and February when the two were alone, according to the warrant.
Hibbs, 57, is being held without bond in the Cobb jail.
The school, which is off Lower Roswell Road by Sewell Park, teaches elementary and middle school grades.
Pierce said investigators do not believe this is an isolated incident and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying other possible victims.
Anyone with information or who may have direct knowledge regarding Hibb’s contact with juveniles is asked to call (770) 801-3470.
