Warrant: Shotgun, liquor found in car

AUSTELL — A passenger in a vehicle traveling through Austell late at night was arrested last weekend because a gun and alcohol were found under the seat, a warrant states.

Damien David of Powder Springs was arrested at 1 a.m. Monday on charges of possession of a sawed off shotgun, for which he did not have a license.

The warrant stated David had the shotgun under a backpack by his feet, which was also near a hidden bottle of liquor.

“There were several cups in the vehicle along with a bottle of rum and a container of juice,” the warrant said.

David was charged with possession of a sawed off shotgun, possession of alcohol by a minor and carrying a concealed weapon.

He was given a $7,500 bond has not yet been released.
