Gun opponent’s convictions challenged

DEAR EDITOR:

In response to Mr. Young’s assertion that people with guns are cowards, I have only one question I ask of any “anti-gun” man. Imagine that you and your wife are in your bed when your bedroom door bursts open, and a man with a weapon approaches your bed.

Would you wish you had a gun? If the man can answer that he would rather have his wife and himself brutally murdered than to touch a gun, I respect his really strong conviction, but I wonder if his wife feels the same way.
