Julia (Julie) Temelini Boothe passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 27, 2013. She was 88 years old. Julie was born in Old Saybrook Connecticut on September 30, 1924. She and Myles, her husband of 41 years, settled in historic Marietta in 1950. They were long time parishioners of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Julie was active in the parish and the elementary school from its inception in 1953. Aside from serving the church community, Julie was involved in many civic groups, charitable organizations, garden clubs, and the womens club of Cobb County. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson Law School of Atlanta. In 1976, Julie began working full time at Kemper Insurance, as a claims adjuster. She worked there until her retirement. After which, she enjoyed traveling, knitting, sewing, bridge and exercising at Health Place. Julie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Julie is preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Massimo Temelini, her husband Myles Stephen Boothe, grandson, Charles Hicks and her seven siblings. Julie is survived by her nine children: daughter, Bonnie B. Hicks; son & daughter-in-law, Stephen C. and Melinda R. Boothe; daughter & son-in-law, Michele L. and James Kent; son & daughter-in-law, Cpt (retd) Myles S. (Chip) and Linda Boothe; son & daughter-in-law, R. Gregory and Victoria Boothe; daughter & son-in-law, Kathleen A. and Col.(retd) David Smith; son G. A. (Sam) Boothe and his significant other, Susan Eder; daughter & son-in-law, Andrea B. and Michael Hahn; daughter & son-in-law, Julia B. and Dr. Joe Phillips III. In addition Julia is survived by 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation at Mayes Ward Funeral Home in Marietta on Monday, August 5 from 5:00-7:00pm with a Prayer Service immediately following. A funeral mass will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 6 at 10am. The burial will follow at Georgia Memorial Cemetery in Marietta.
