Monday, a Smyrna woman was accused by Cobb County police of using a credit card from an area high school’s football booster club to charge more than $1,500 in purchases.

Stephanie Lewis Ford of 2029 Harwinor Road was “entrusted as a parent volunteer” and treasurer for the Campbell High School Spartan Football Boosters club, according to the arrest warrant.

The warrant stated Ford used a credit card given to her to make “purchases for her own personal gain and not for its intended purpose to support the football booster club,” between July of 2012 and November of 2012.

Those credit card charges included tickets on Delta Air Lines for herself and two children, an Avis rental car, a storage unit fee, and fast-food restaurants purchases that totaled $6,292.

The warrant also listed a payment to the Boston University Dean of Students, where Ford’s daughter attends school.

Although the warrant has been issued for Ford on a felony theft by taking charge, she had not been booked into the Cobb jail as of Friday afternoon.

That was four months of time that the president or vp should have been checking the bills. This lady need to go to jail and make full restitution even if it leads to bankruptcy and the entire booster group for that organization needs to be replaced immediately

The Treasury is suppose to be watching the money. Now this big black cow with the elephant tattoo on her ankle is facing felony theft taking charges in Cobb County. She should not fair well at a Jury trail in Cobb County. She had to go out of County to get a $10K property bond.

That is the Problem the White folks who are the President of the booster club, they are damned if they look over the shoulder of a black who says they will be the Treasurer. Well as Ms. Donna the Booster President said, no more, The President and the rest of the board, will never trust a Treasurer again. In other words, do not apply if you are black. Do not work the gate or do not work the snack bar if you are black and on free lunch. Too much temptation. We should have known that you are stealing when you show up with phones, nails, hair weaves, but you can't pay your cheerleading $60 dues. You are on free lunch, but you want to handle everyone elses money. Then you all expect the white folks to feed your children for team meals. Then on the baseball team your kids are allowed to call the mixed race boy with a white mother who is a "Star player" the "N" word, when his White mother complains you get him kicked of the team.

Lets put it this way the white folks at Campbell are sick of supporting the black thieves at Campbell this Mother just showed everyone why. Hope the Cobb County Jury gives you 10 years of hard jail time of stealing from out kids. After all you are the Black B who told me at Cheerleading that you were entitled to free sports. I hope Boston U. kicks your Daughter out. Us Catholics don't like the bad moral turpitude, you probably lied on the application. You still owe the fees, now that the booster Club denied the charges.

As a previous member of the Campbell Football Booster Club, you are correct. The president should have been watching the statements. She may not have taken the money, but it was her responsibility to be the gatekeeper - her name was on the account as well!!! I don't think anyone has even considered what this does to their 501c(3) status - IF they still have it and well as the by-laws - are they following them?

Another comment - why would you bring race into this? There is ridiculous - there was a "white" parent over concessions at Campbell and I'm sure other schools, who stole as well. Seriously!

In my opinion, EVERY booster club needs to be audited... too much money is involved when parents have to pay upwards of $1,000 for their kid to play a sport.
Bonded In Cobb

Unless something has changed recently, why are school club members/officers, etc., with access to money, not bonded? I have no sympathy with the school organization that lost the money when more should have been done in oversight, the least of which is requiring bonding for the deadbeat that "stole" the money.

The Cobb County School Board is culpable in this. More should be done to keep this from continuing to happen.

This is really awful especially at Campbell where it is like pulling teeth to get a certain sector of the parents to even pay their booster dues. Then I am guessing that one of them steals from the booster dues.

When my daughter was there the boys Football and Basketball would not even share any gate with the cheerleaders ( unlike other districts where cheerleading gets part of the gate). At Campbell one year the girls Cheerleading program for Football and Basketball could only get 11 out of 150 Cheerleader Families to pay the Mandatory $60 Booster Club dues that were due in May by Nov. A certain demographic ignored numerous e-mails from coaches about paying the dues. But wanted to plan a fried chicken banquets for Christmas. When informed that only 11 people had paid, and that couldn't happened. When some of us reminded that this was mandatory. They said that they were entitled to a free education and sports. I told them they weren't entitled to sports. They think they are and everyone else's money.

Then I know for a fact it is one of these non-contributors of the $60 Booster Club Dues for Cheerleading Dues who went and stole the Football Booster Dues. What a lowdown Thief.

4 years at Campbell and you see what kind of Ghetto Trash Parents you have to Deal with. It is too bad we can't have a Vinings School District.

No doubt another vast misunderstanding by the Football Club when the small Mom wipe out two linebackers in the club during a practice swipe of the Credit Card..

This is what happens when you try not to be "Raciest" and give a black parent a chance. They should have asked the Cheer parents who would have told them that she wouldn't even pay her Mandatory $60 cheerleading booster dues. She was one of the counterfeit handbag tooting black mothers who claimed she didn't have to pay the due since her children were entitled to free education and sports. Wrong 183 lb black female with elephant tatoo on her ankle ( I thought this was so funny). It's a shame the daughter took up a black only scholarship at BU and then she had to steal the BU dues. The house shown on the news is probably section 8. She had to get an out of county 10k property bond to get out of Jail. How many white Campbell dues paying parents want to be on the jury. I heard this one say "those rich white people that live in the big houses should pay for the booster club".
