MARIETTA — A mile-long march through the city and vigil on the Square to protest the verdict of the Trayvon Martin murder case was postponed because of rain Saturday.

Organizers from the Cobb County chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the Cobb Immigrant Alliance said the event will be reschedule for noon next Saturday, July 27.

Some protestors did arrive at the Cobb Civic Center to participate, carrying more umbrellas than signs.

Rally cries of “What do we want? Justice. When do we want it? Now,” were shouted before the small group disbanded.

Mob rule never dictates justice. A jury found Zimmerman innocent, but unfortunately, one racial group, disagreeing with the verdict has decided to make it racial as expected. But yet, the jury spoke clearly that there was no, repeat no racial evidence. Are you listening Jackson and Sharpton? Where were you when Simpson was declared innocent? For too many people, its more important to support color at the expense of having integrity, morality, and decency. Even our over-reaching federal government was powerless to reverse justice from occurring. It is as simple as this:

1. Black on black murder is not important to blacks.

2. If a black kills a non-black, they are innocent no matter the evidence.

3. If a non-black kills a black, they are guilty no matter the evidence.

I think I understand it now. Racism is unfortunately alive and well in America.

Is a "small group" two people? Did they quickly disband to post their gallant protest on Facebook and Twitter?

@pelliegrino: You're a lot like the water of the same name: Transparent and full of gas.
