Lester Thompkins, 43, of Riverdale and Fred Tony Green, 42, of Atlanta were convicted Tuesday in relation to the April 6, 2012 burglary of a maintenance building at Post Crest Apartments off Adams Lake Boulevard in southeast Cobb.
Cobb Superior Court Judge Reuben Green presided at the one-day bench trial and after convicting the two, sentenced Thompkins and Green each to serve eight years in prison.
Cobb Assistant District Attorney John Pursley said that the two took tools and other equipment from the apartment complex’s maintenance building, and that the items were later recovered at Thompkins’ home in Clayton County.
“An investigation by the Fulton County burglary task force has resulted in numerous counts pending against Mr. Thompkins and Mr. Green in Fulton County,” Pursley said. “This burglary just happened to be committed in Cobb County.”
Thompkins’s attorney was Marietta attorney John Greco and Green’s was Marietta attorney Michael Saul.
