Ken Henry, 74, of Marietta died July 3, 2013 after battling cancer for several months. He was born in Brookfield, MO, but he grew up in Laclede, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents, William H. Henry and Grace A. Henry and his son, Kenneth Wesley Henry, Jr. He is survived by Elsie, his wife of 49 years, his son, Joseph Henry and his wife Susan and grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah. Following graduation from MO School of Mines and NE State Teachers College with a degree in electrical Engineering, Ken joined Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM. While there, he earned a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico. After moving to Livermore, CA Ken continued to work at Sandia National Laboratory, and he received his PhD in Applied Science from the University of CA, Davis. In 1997 he retired and continued to live in Livermore until he moved to Marietta in 1998. While in Livermore, Ken was very active with Boy Scouts, Indian Guides, Little League and many church activities. He loved music, played the piano almost daily, liked to sing and enjoyed golf with the seniors at Indian Hills Country Club. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Bethel UMC, 4385 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta, on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Livermore, CA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Bethel Ken Henry Memorial Fund, 4385 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30068. Online condolences may be expressed at:
