Shawn Moore of Marietta was arrested June 30 and charged with felony intent to distribute cocaine, felony intent to distribute marijuana and misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement after a resident in the Skyway Apartment Complex on South Cobb drive reported a strong smell of marijuana coming from a nearby apartment.

The door to the apartment was open, and officers detected the odor of marijuana. After repeatedly knocking on the door, officers conducted a sweep of the room and located several narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia in plain sight.

After another resident told police Moore was in an adjacent apartment, officers confronted Moore there. Moore fled on foot across South Cobb Drive and was apprehended after a brief pursuit. Officials say a search of the second apartment resulted in the seizure of 6.5 grams of crack cocaine, 13.2 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and $100.

According to Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, Moore has been held at the Cobb County jail since June 30 with no bond for violating the terms of his probation.
