An Austell man was arrested June 30 in connection with a shooting that injured another man at the Magnolia Crossing Apartments on Six Flags Drive.

Brian Rawles fired two shots from a semi-automatic handgun in the direction of Henry Barlow, and one of the shots hit Barlow in the back as he fled, according to the arrest warrant.

Cobb County officers responded to the scene and reported that they were able to identify Rawles, who was taken into custody, as the shooter. They found one .40-caliber shell casing at the crime scene, the warrant stated. Barlow was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and had to undergo surgery to remove the bullet.

Rawles is charged with aggravated assault with a weapon. He is being held at Cobb County jail without bond.
