From staff reports

Cobb County Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday at the Arby’s restaurant on Sandy Plains Road in Marietta.

According to detectives, a man entered the Arby’s around 8 p.m. and immediately went behind the counter armed with a handgun and demanded that the manager open the safe. After receiving cash from the store manager — police wouldn’t say how much — the suspect fled the area in what was described as a two-door sedan with a dull red paint job.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 9 inches tall, in his late teens to early 20s. He was last seen wearing dark jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt, a black mask and a pair of black and white Under Armour gloves. He was also carrying a blue and red backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (770) 499-3945.
