Henry Lashawn Peeples was arrested after driving his green GMC Envoy SUVoff the road and colliding with a tree in the front yard of a home off of Powder Springs Road near Smyrna.
A report by Cobb County Police stated Peeples attempted to flee the scene, until he realized the owner of the property where the crash occurred was calling the authorities.
Peeples then started kicking the front door of Michael Joseph’s home, and shouted, “I’m gonna kill you white cracker!” the report stated.
When Officer A.L. Wassel arrived on the scene, Peeples resisted arrest.
“The accused struck myself in the face with an open left hand with enough force to cause my sunglasses to be removed from my face,” Wassel’s report stated.
Peeples, who was already on probation, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, without a valid driver’s license, perpetrating a hit-and- run and causing property damage while trespassing.
The incident also resulted in two felony charges of obstructing police and making a terrorist threat, because Peeples “threatened to commit a crime of violence, with the purpose of terrorizing another."
