From staff reports

A Lithia Springs man was killed after wrecking on Veterans Memorial Highway at the intersection of Kitchens Road just before 11 a.m. Friday.

Gary Henderson, 52, of Lithia Springs, was attempting to turn westbound onto Veterans Memorial Highway from northbound Kitchens Road in a silver 2005 Honda Civic when he turned into the path of a black 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Gerald Garba, 26, of Atlanta, who was travelling eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway, according to a police report.

After the front of the Chevrolet struck the driver’s side door of the Honda, both vehicles came to an uncontrolled stop in the westbound lanes of Veterans Memorial Highway, police said.

Henderson was taken to WellStar South Cobb Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Garba was not injured. No traffic charges are expected. Anyone with information is asked to call (770) 499-3987.
