“It’s just rotisserie chicken, rice, beans and potato salad. We do everything fresh daily,” said owner Jerry Luna. The eatery has been in business for 10 years.
Whole chickens are quartered at the restaurant and sold with or without sides. Family packs and larger packs for parties are available. Also on the menu are items such as burritos, quesadillas, nachos and salad.
Though the restaurant has a Mexican flair, Luna describes the rice as “a little different” and the potato salad and beans as American.
But the chicken can only be described as delicious. It is marinated overnight and cooked each morning.
“We cook everything fresh,” said Luna, an Acworth resident. “Nothing is frozen. Nothing comes in a can.” Luna and his wife, Rocio, have three children.
The most unexpected item on the menu is the potato salad.
“We learned to make potato salad. … People started bragging about it so we just perfected it. It was a hit so we just left it on the menu,” he said.
For first time guests, Luna recommends the lunch or dinner combo of chicken, rice, potato salad (and beans at dinner) served with tortillas and salsa.
“You can get the feel for what we have,” said Luna, who began working in restaurants at age 13.
He started a similar business in California in 1996 but moved to Cobb County after family members told him the area was good for business.
“We just took a shot at something that we thought was going to be good and stuck with it. That’s how it all became,” he said.
The restaurant is clean and the family running the business is helpful and friendly.
“We do our best to have a consistent product. We have a simple concept. We always try to give our best product and make sure it’s fresh and good and give the best service to our customers,” Luna said.
