Cobb Relay for Life

What: An annual event raising funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. During the event, both participants and survivors celebrate and remember people lost to cancer, honor people who have fought or are fighting cancer and inspire others to take action against the disease.

When: May 17, 7 p.m. to May 18, 7 a.m.

Where: Jim R. Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Road, Marietta, 30008

Marietta Greek Festival

The festival will have dozens of authentic vendors inside the Agora (Marketplace) featuring fine imported Greek jewelry, handmade linens, hip scarves, Greek cuisine, Greek cookbooks and travel books, decorative art pieces, hand-done oil paintings, Mediterranean candle holders, glass blown items and wood crafted items from the Holy Land.

When: May 17, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.; May 18, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and May 19, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: Event will be at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 3431 Trickum Road, Marietta. Parking will be at Simpson Middle School, 3340 Trickum Road, Marietta; The Church of Latter-Day Saints, 3195 Trickum Road, Marietta; and Lassiter High School, 2601 Shallowford Road, Marietta.

Cost: $4 adults, free for children 12 and under

MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour

Spectators can line the course on Lake Acworth Beach at Cauble Park to watch the wakeboard tour athletes, enjoy food and music. There will be athlete autograph signings, chances to win free stuff and shopping at the most cutting-edge stores for water-sports equipment including boats, wakeboards, wakeskates, sunglasses and the latest in wakeboarding and surfing fashions. Following the Pro Tour event will be a Block Party in downtown Acworth with the presentation of awards from the event, live music and outdoor dining.

When: May 18, noon to 7 p.m. for the Pro Tour, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the Block Party

Where: Lake Acworth Beach at Cauble Park, Acworth

Cost: $13 ages 13 and up, $5 ages 6-12, and free for five and under.

Songwriter’s Showcase

Arena Tavern will host songwriter and musician Mark Pertain, a former Nashville recording artist.

When: May 18, 8 p.m.

Mableton Day
