Roger Bourg, aged 74, passed away at home May 8th after losing a hard fought battle against brain cancer. Roger had recently retired from Lockheed, after serving as an Engineer for over 40 years working on the C 130 project. Roger was a graduate of Mississippi State University class of 1960 and it was there that he met and married his wife of 52 years, Helen. Over the course of his life, Roger also taught at Southern Technical Institute as well as Georgia Tech. Roger loved the water, woodworking, fishing, bike riding, anything mechanical, bridge, bourbon, the blues and his pipe. Roger is survived by his wife, Helen, his daughter Laura and her husband John. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at H.M. Patterson and Son Canton Hill Chapel at 1157 Old Canton Rd. Marietta, GA. From 5 to 8 pm, on Friday May 10th. The actual funeral services are private and will be for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Longleaf Hospice Foundation of Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Dear Helen & family - My Aunt Lil just called & told us about Roger. We are so sorry for your loss.

We have such fond memories of our times together before we left Marietta. we send our prayers.
