Lloyd G. Anderson, 75, of Marietta died on Friday May 3, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7th at Open Bible Tabernacle in Marietta with Rev. Joe Postell and Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. The interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. Lloyd was born to Steve and Grace Hester Anderson on May 18, 1937. He was named after the doctor who delivered him, Abe Guinn. He graduated high school from West Fannin High in Blue Ridge, GA. Lloyd then joined the Air Force where he served from 1957-1961 while being stationed at England Air Force Base in Alexandria, LA. He graduated college from Louisiana State University. Lloyd married Patricia Ann Johnson on April 19, 1959 at Hopewell Baptist Church in McCaysville, GA. They have two children, Steven and Karen. He retired from Bellsouth after 30+ years of service. Lloyd was a member of Open Bible Tabernacle Baptist Church and he enjoyed working on cars and trucks. Survivors include one daughter, Karen Powell; one son, Steve Anderson; one sister, Billie Sue Tyler; four nieces and one nephew; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is predeceased by two sisters, Frances Dee McCarter and Julie Gwendolyn Anderson; parents, Steve Anderson and Grace Hester Anderson. Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 6th at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.

Mr. Anderson's daughter is Karen Postell, not Powell, and the wife of Rev. Joe Postell.
