Rev. James “Jimmy” McClellan Ford, 79 of Powder Springs died on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. A Celebration Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Monday, May 6, at Powder Springs United Methodist Church in Powder Springs. A native of Ramer, AL and a retired United Methodist minister, Rev. Ford served churches for 45 years in the Iowa, Alabama and West Florida conferences of the United Methodist Church. A graduate of Troy State, AL, School of Theology at Emory University with studies at Fuller School of Theology. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sally Ford of Powder Springs; two daughters, Bonnie Ford Obrecht and her husband Kevin of Powder Springs, Elizabeth Ford Holston of Ankeny, IA; one son, James Ford, Jr. and wife Neta of LaGrange, KY; one brother Lawrence Ford and his wife Jane Ann; four grandchildren, Lane Obrecht and his wife Katie, Amanda Obrecht, Sarah A. Ford, Rachel Ford; one great-grandson, Jake Obrecht; numerous nieces and nephews. Rev. Ford is preceded in death by his Parents Edward S. and Sarah G. Ford; sister Mary Ola Gragg and brother Dr. Edward S. Ford.
