Armed robbery at Acworth Rite Aid

An armed robbery was reported at the Rite Aid at 4283 Wade Green Road in Acworth Wednesday.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the Rite Aid and jumped the pharmacy counter while pointing a handgun at an employee and demanding prescription pills. The suspect fled the business in an unknown direction on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of various medications.

The suspect is described as a white man, 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-10 inches tall in his early 20s. He was last seen wearing a multi-colored motorcycle helmet, long-sleeve grey shirt, blue jeans and black gloves. He was also wearing a green backpack. He was armed with a small-caliber black semi-automatic handgun.
