DEAR EDITOR:

Re: Everhart’s comments

Where is the evidence on marital fraud she cites from the nine states that permit gay marriage? Statistics exist if anyone wishes to investigate. Other than that she’s just gassing off. This quality of comment comes from a gab session of like-minded people and not any serious investigation or consideration. It comes from the Chicken Little and “the sky is falling” book of quotes.

It makes it hard to support the Republican Party, especially after Alaska Rep. Don Young’s recent “wetback” comment.

I know many high minded fair individuals in the Republican Party. Base comments from the mentioned politicians reveal their true nature which is not commendable, does not merit being in the public forum and is an abuse of their pulpit.

First - there are statistics that aren't pleasing to the gay community - particularly around raising children with a male father and a female mother. But don't expect to read them in the headlines, as the media is in the tank for gay marriage.

Second - the three "anti Sue Everhardt" letters in the MDJ suggest that with those statements, Ms. Everhardt has lost all credibility. If you base credibility on a single dumb remark, none of us would have any value in speaking on any topic, let alone VP Biden...
