MARIETTA – Cobb Fire officials say some roads in the Willows by the Rivers condominiums off Columns Drive in east Cobb will be shut down while they continue to put out a fire.

According to Lt. Dan Dupree with Cobb Fire, 911 personnel received a call around 2:54 p.m. from a resident that there was a fire in a home.

When they arrived on scene just 10 minutes later, the fire was through the roof of the three-story building.

“It’s hard to tell how many units are involved,” Dupree said.

The top floor and attic of the unit is heavily damaged, along with the second and first floors from smoke and water damage.

Dupree said the roof of the building has caved in as well.

During an initial search of the building no one was found but he can’t confirm anything until a second search.

Cobb Police are also on the scene to control the crowd and traffic.

“Access to other buildings is closed off for the next several hours,” Dupree said.
