Paul Hill Robinson of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on March 28, 2013 after a brief illness. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Sunday, March 31 at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. Memorial services will be held 3 pm Monday, April 1st, at The First Baptist Church of Smyrna. Pastor Gary Ellison will officiate. A private family interment will be held on Monday Morning. Paul was born in Vinings on March 18, 1921 to the late Virgil and Fannie Mae Robinson. He was the faithful husband of the late Betty Seagraves Robinson for 64 years. He was an active member of the Masons and Shriners. In 1981 he was Potentate of the Yaarab Temple. He was a member of the Douglas County Rotary Club, a member of the Fowler Bible Study for over 20 years and Founding Director of the Citizens and Merchants State Bank. He was also involved in numerous other community activities in both Douglas and Cobb County. He was a WW II Veteran and co owner of Robinson Tropical Gardens, Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Safeco Exterminating Co. and at one time Tax Commissioner of Cobb County and President of Georgia Cemetery Association. Paul was the devoted father of Sherrie Stephens, Paula Lewis, Paul H. “Robbie” Robinson, JR and Janie Joyner. Precious Papa to Gina Lewis Booth, Wendy Stephens Sanders, Todd Stephens, Jody Stephens, Bryan Lewis, Brooke Stephens, Paul H. “Trey” Robinson, III Amanda Joyner Pizzi, Bart Joyner, and Jesse Robinson, Adoring Papa to his 34 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
