From staff reports

One driver was killed and another seriously injured in a Thursday morning crash on Interstate 75.

According to Gordy Wright with the Georgia State Patrol, officers received a call around 9:35 a.m. about a three-car wreck in the northbound lane of I-75 at the Canton Road Connector.

Wright said the driver of one car was changing lanes when it hit another. A description of each car was not provided.

“The impact spun the passenger car into the path of a Ford Expedition,” he said. “The Expedition struck the passenger car in the driver’s side.”

A passenger in one of the passenger cars was injured and taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting the follow-up investigation, and charges are pending until the investigation is done.

The names of those injured and killed will be released once family members are contacted.
