Kell trailed 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth frame when a walk of Austin Henley loaded the bases with two outs. Ryan Losito singled to score McManigal, and Jamari Moore drew a walk to score Kerrigan McManigal.
Losito went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. On the mound, the Longhorns’ Grant Morgan pitched four innings, striking out three and allowing three earned runs on three hits and three base-on-balls.
Kell is now 10-6 (7-3 in Region 7AAAAA). The Longhorns will play Thursday at Forsyth Central.
Osborne 5, Cambridge 4: Martin Logan’s two-out double in the bottom of the seventh brought home Nile Goings to bring the Cardinals their first Region 7AAAAA victory of the season.
Logan also had a two-run homerun in the second inning. Charles Logan pitched all seven innings and recorded seven strikeouts.
Osborne is now 2-9 (1-6 in Region 7AAAAA) and will host Creekview later today.
n North Cobb 11, Campbell 0: Dustin Morrow led the Warriors with three hits and two RBIs, while Trevor Devine had three hits, an RBI and two runs scored.
Patrick Smith had three RBIs. Chad McClanahan pitched six frames for the Warriors, finishing with just two hits and zero walks allowed.
North Cobb is now 10-6 (6-2 in Region 4AAAAAA). They play at Harrison on Friday.
Pope 11, Sequoyah 0: The Greyhounds scored six in the third, two in the fourth and two in the fifth to earn a shutout victory over the Chiefs, improving their record to 8-2 in Region 7AAAAA.
Patrick Wiseman led the Greyhounds at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Johnny Flading also went 2-for-3 and had an RBI, while Steven Skruck had a two RBIs on a double, as well as a SAC fly that scored a run.
Wiseman also pitched four of the five frames with just one-allowed hit. Pope hosts Riverwood on Friday.
n McEachern 4, Harrison 3: The Indians won on a walkoff on an error by the Hoyas in the bottom of the eighth inning when Jonathan Wells hit a shot down the third-base line that was mishandled, allowing Jared Walker to score from third.
Walker reached on a fielder’s choice and moved around via a walk by Chase Jones and a single by T.J. Clark.
McEachern trailed 3-1 and was down to its final strike when Aaron Morris walked. Maxwell Hawkins drew a walk in the following at-bat, and both runners scored thanks to a triple from Trey Harris.
Harris finished 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Dalton Geekie entered in the fourth inning to relieve McEachern’s Sam Stephens.
Geekie finished with four strikeouts and zero earned runs. McEachern is 13-3 (7-1 in Region 4AAAAAA) and will play at Hillgrove on Friday.
n Gordon Lee 10, Walker 1: The Wolverines only lasted five innings against a potent scoring attack from Gordon Lee. Cameron Blaebaum went 2-for-4 from the plate to lead Walker.
Austin Walker scored in the fourth inning when Zach Eikonst drove him in.
Eikonst pitched all five frames for the Wolverines, allowing just five earned runs.
Walker will play Saturday at Dunwoody.
n Walton 16, Cherokee 2: Luke Manzo went 5-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and Henry Rowling added a three-run home run to lead the Radiers to a Region 5AAAAAA victory.
Walton scored eight runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Stephen Wrenn was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Chase Burkes went 2-for-4 with a double, Joey Szwec wsa 2-for-4 with an RBI, Aaron Rzucidlo had a hit and drove in two and Bradley Schwartz had a hit and three runs batted in.
Schwartz also pitched five innings for the win.
Walton (12-4, 3-1) will host Wheeler on Thursday
n Hillgrove 9, Kennesaw Mountain 1: Mitchell Mannino was 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run doubles to lead the Hawks to a big Region 4AAAAAA victory.
Brian Johnson was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, Matthew Vaccaro was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Tyler Weyenberg went 2-for-4 with a double and Alex Garland was 2-for-3.
Nick Andrews pitched four strong innings for the win. Cade Douglas pitched the last three innings to earn the save.
Hillgrove (8-6, 5-1) will host McEachern on Friday
nMarietta 5, McEachern 0: The Blue Devils swept the Hoyas to improve to 7-4 (4-2 in Region 4AAAAAA).
Jay Buxton (6-1, 6-0), Matt Efromov (6-4, 6-0), and Marcus Brito
(6-1, 6-0) took the singles. In the doubles, Jacob Pope and Zachary Garrison won easily (6-0, 6-1), while Sam Tischner and Dalton Brans rounded out the Blue Devils victory with a (6-1, 7-5) win.
Marietta will play today at Harrison.
n Walker 3, Blessed Trinity 2: Derrick Brown led from the top singles slot for the Wolverines, winning (7-5, 2-6, 10-7) in a super tie-breaker.
Alan Norsworthy also had to win in a super tie-breaker (6-1, 4-6, 10-5).
In the doubles, Will Chocallo and Sloan Coolbroth were the difference with a (6-3, 6-4) win. Walker is now 11-1 and a perfect 6-0 in Region 6A.
The Wolverines play today at home against Excel Christian.
n Wesleyan 4, Whitefield 1: Bennett Shilling won a tough battle in the third singles slot for the Wolfpack (4-6, 6-2, 10-6). In the two singles, David Lemasters well in a close match (2-6, 4-6).
n Harrison 4, South Cobb 1: The Hoyas handled the Eagles with ease to improve to 7-7-1 and 4-2 in Region 4AAAAAA.
Meredith Frost led the singles slot with a (6-0, 6-0) shutout, followed by Wendy Jhang’s (6-2, 6-2) win. In the doubles, Alexis Morris and Liz Powers (6-0, 6-0) and Autumn Weekly and Lauren Eckman (6-0,
6-0) also won in shutouts.
Harrison will play another region match today at Marietta.
n Hillgrove 4, Walker 1: Jessica Cantrell won 6-2, 6-2 and Sarah Simm won 6-2, 7-5 in the singles slots for the Hawks.
In the doubles, Hannah Creech and Jaiden Massi (7-6, 7-5) and Elise Joyce and Alexis Skillings (7-6, 7-5) won.
Mia Pattillo had a shutout win for Walker (6-0, 6-0). Hillgrove is now 10-3 and undefeated in Region 4AAAAAA.
The Hawks play at Kennesaw Mountain later today.
n Wesleyan 4, Whitefield 1: Kerry Anna Lemasters won a tough battle 1-6, 7-6, 10-7 in the third singles slot for the Wolfpack.
n Marietta 5, McEachern 0: Brooke Donnelly and Morgan Haycraft each won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 and No. 3 singles to lead the Lady Blue Devils to the Region 4AAAAAA victory.
Alleyah Knight captured a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles. Aya Maghribi and Wilson Won won in straight sets at No. 1 doubles, while Brenda Heard and Shanna Mattson won 6-4, 4-6, (10-5) at No. 2 doubles.
Marietta (5-5, 4-2) hosts Harrison today.
n Pope 4, North Springs 1: Taylor Reed needed three sets to win 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 to help lead the Lady Greyhounds to a Region 7AAAAA victory.
Kate Weber won 6-4, 6-2.
The doubles teams of Lauren Husney with Katie Story won 6-2, 6-2 and Lindsay Roberts with Meghan Matsumoto won 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Pope (10-7, 6-4) will travel to Woodstock on Tuesday.
n Whitefield 13, Northgate 1: The Wolfpack was led by Dallas Darling’s five goals.
Preston Blair added a hat trick, while Max Rivers, Chandler Reagan, Carter Fibash and Braylen Phillips all scored one goal. Matt Milburn had 10 saves in the net.
Whitefield is now 7-2 and will host Woodward Academy on Wednesday.
n Peachtree Ridge 6, Pope 5: The Greyhounds lost a heartbreaker in overtime against the Lions to fall to 5-4 on the season.
Parker LaVelle, Zach Wilson, Liam Lynch, Zach Lynch, and Tyler Borko all scored goals for the Greyhounds.
Joe Harmon had 10 saves under the net. Pope will play at Lovett on Saturday.
n Hillgrove 12, North Atlanta 4: Sophomore Ross Mathis had three goals and four groundballs to lead the team, followed by his brother, Jeff, who scored two goals.
Stephen Galloway and Michael McCluskey each had five groundballs as well. Jamie Baine recorded seven saves under the goal for the Hawks.
n Sprayberry 18, Darlington 7: Gaby Lohner scored five goals to lead the Lady Yellow Jackets to the Area 2AAAAA-A road win.
Jennie Racher and Taylor McGhee each tallied three goals and an assist for Sprayberry (5-5, 3-2), which led 11-2 at halftime. Ashley Russo had three goals and Katie Tokos totaled two. Abby Stolz scored once and Samantha Joe had one goal and one assist.
Julia Abney stopped seven shots.
Sprayberry hosts Creekview on Monday.
Lassiter 15, Roswell 3: The Lady Trojans exacted a form of revenge over the team that eliminated them from the state playoffs the past two seasons.
Jill Rankin scored five goals and one assist for for Lassiter (8-0, 6-0), which led 8-1 at halftime. Annie Christian and Alexa Daugherty totaled three goals each, while Johanna Fusco collected two goals and four assists. Cydney Tutchton had two goals.
Lauren Wetherhead finished with 10 saves for Lassiter, which is in Maryland and Virginia next week.
n Kell 165, Pope 185: Matthew Hines finished one-under par with a 35 to lead all scorers for the Longhorns.
Chandler Mackey and Mark DeCoster carded 43s, while Corey Sellers finished with a 44. The Greyhounds were led by Danny Edmondson’s 42.
Kell will host the Kell Golf Classic at Eaglewatch Golf Club on Saturday.
n Harrison 167, Kennesaw Mountain 169: The Mustangs’ Jonathan Kepler led all scorers with a 35, but the Hoyas won the match improve to 2-0.
Matt McMahon led the Hoyas with a card of 40, followed by Jacob Eanes and Brian Greaves, who shot 42s, respectively.
Stewart Lawrence shot a 43 for Kennesaw Mountain. Harrison will play Saturday in the Kell Golf Classic.
n Sprayberry 184, Kell 185: The Yellow Jackets pulled out a one-stroke victory at the Marietta City Club to earn their first win of the season (1-1).
Carly Ridge led with a 57, followed by Rachel Schmidt’s 63 and Brittany Swann’s 64.
Sprayberry will play at Dogwood Golf and Country Club today against Hillgrove.
n Kennesaw Mountain 158, Marietta 164: Kacey Bunda shot a 49 to lead the Mustangs against the Blue Devils at Marietta Country Club.
Haley Gossett shot a 51.
The Mustangs are now 3-1 (all Region 4AAAAAA matches). Kennesaw Mountain will play a rematch against the Blue Devils on Monday at Marietta City Club.
