According to FOX 5 Storm team meteorologist Paul Milliken, a front moving in from the north could create the potential for severe storms. Some of those storms could have strong winds and small hail.
Milliken says the rain will hit northwest Georgia at around 10 a.m., and move into the metro area at around noon. He says the best chance for the storms to happen will be in the afternoon and evening, and will diminish during the early hours on Tuesday.
According to Milliken, the Monday afternoon commute could be a nasty one.
Rainfall totals could be more than 2 inches in some areas, especially in north Georgia, Milliken says.
