Barbara “Polly” Ward Mauthe, 81, of Kennesaw, died March 10, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Chapel, Marietta, with Rev. Dean Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Marietta. Mrs. Mauthe was born in Gainesville, Georgia, and moved to Cobb County in 1954. She started her first business in 1958 and continued as a hairdresser around Cobb County most of her life. Mrs. Mauthe was a member of Eastern Star, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Smyrna, and a member of First Baptist Church Marietta for over 45 years. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Owenby Sawyer, of Austell, and Gail Bowen & husband, Roger, of Rockmart; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great, great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory, Marietta.
