Warrant: Man charged after shooting at man at school

A Marietta man has been charged with felony aggravated assault and carrying weapons in a school safety zone after police said he shot at and hit a man at Campbell High School.

According to a criminal warrant, Javier Solis shot one round from a semiautomatic handgun at Hilmer Quintanilla on the evening of March 3 at Campbell, located at 5625 Ward St. in Smyrna. The warrant also stated that Solis punched Quintanilla in the face, causing his right cheek bone to swell.

Solis also faces a misdemeanor simple battery charge related to the incident. He is being held without bond in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
