“It was just before 10 a.m.,” Baldwin said Thursday night. “Our first officer got there within 15 to 20 seconds of getting the call.”
Within another minute, eight additional officers were on scene.
The school was immediately placed on lockdown and remained so for about an hour.
“Everything worked like clockwork,” Baldwin said. “We did a thorough search of the school, and after we found out everybody was safe and there were no injuries, we realized it was a hoax.”
Detectives were called to the scene to determine who called in the false report, and by 3:30 p.m., they figured out it was a student on the campus.
