Sprayberry 3, Campbell 1: Antonio Valenzuela converted a second-half penalty kick, breaking a 1-all tie and boosting the Yellow Jackets’ non-region win.
It was Valenzuela’s second goal of the game, and it was followed soon after by Rodrigo Blankenship’s score on a free kick.
Eric Aguirre and McKenzie Brackett each spent a half in goal, combining to make three saves for Sprayberry (3-2), which will be off until hosting Northview on March 6.
Pebblebrook 1, North Cobb Christian 0: Fredy Grande scored the only goal of the game in the second half to lift the Falcons to a non-region victory.
Chris Estrada and Osmen Perez combined to record the shutout in goal for Pebblebrook (2-1-1), which will host Hillgrove in a Region 4AAAAAA game March 8.
Marietta 3, Mount Paran Christian 0: Bryan Camarena scored off a header following a crossing pass from Omar Sonko in the first half, and the Blue Devils went on to blank the Eagles at home.
Camarena’s goal put Marietta (3-0) in front 1-0 at halftime. He scored again in the second half, and Will Nelson also had a goal.
Ian Shannon and Evan Okonkwo combined for the shut out.
Marietta will host River Ridge on Friday, while Mount Paran (0-1-1) is at Kennesaw Mountain.
Allatoona 1, Hillgrove 1: The Lady Buccaneers and Lady Hawks played to a non-region tie.
After a scoreless first half, Willough Davis’ penalty kick got Allatoona on the board first. Hillgrove then scored the equalizer with 7 minutes to play.
Allatoona (1-2-1) will travel to Region 5AAAAA rival South Paulding on Tuesday. Hillgrove (3-1-1) is at Collins Hill on Friday.
Pope 0, Lassiter 0: It was a tale of two halves, with Lassiter controlling the first and Pope the second, but neither team could finish.
Pope goalkeeper Sam Piper made three breakaway saves in the game.
Lassiter goalie Shannon DeSantis and Lassiter’s defenders stepped up, particularly in the second half, when Pope took more shot attempts.
Mount Paran Christian 3, Whitefield Academy 1: Rachel VanHorn broke a 1-all tie in the 65th minute and spurred the Lady Eagles on to the Area 7A win.
VanHorn’s sister, Renee, accounted for Mount Paran’s other two goals, with all three scores unassisted.
Courtney McKenzie saved six shots for Mount Paran (2-1, 1-0), which will host Christian Heritage in another area game Tuesday.
Francis Hamilton scored for Whitefield (1-1, 0-1), which will travel to Holy Innocents’ on Thursday.
Campbell 3, Sprayberry 1: Jemila Davis scored a hat trick to help lead the Lady Spartans to the road victory.
Anika Mitchell and Alma Saldana each had an assist for Campbell (2-3), which led 2-0 at halftime.
Maria Fernandez finished with 11 saves for Campbell, which is at Marietta on Tuesday.
Kell 20, Wheeler 4: Damie Prosser scored five goals to lead the Longhorns to a non-area victory in their season opener.
Riki Kujanpaa and Devin Llerandi each scored four goals. Luke Harris and Avery Brown combined for six saves in goal.
Kell (1-0) will travel to Decatur on Friday to face Johns Creek in a neutral-site game.
Lassiter 5, Chattahoochee 3: Corey John and Jack Fitzharris each scored two goals to lift the Trojans to a low-scoring non-area victory.
Pierce Smith scored a goal and Fitzharris added an assist.
Ryan Smith made 12 saves for Lassiter (3-0), which will host last year’s Class AAAAA state champion, Milton, on Friday in an Area 2AAAAAA game.
Sprayberry 12, Blessed Trinity 11: The Lady Yellow Jackets rallied from a 10-9 deficit with about 10 minutes left to pick up the home win.
Taylor McGhee totaled five goals for Sprayberry (1-2), which led 6-4 at halftime. Gaby Lohner and Jennie Racher each had three scores, while Ashley Russo collected a goal and an assist.
Julia Abney stopped 10 shots for the Lady Yellow Jackets, who will host M.L. King today.
McIntosh 18, Harrison 10: Gabby Grizzle scored four goals but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Hoyas fell at home.
Regan Payne and Merrick Lughridge each scored two goals and Taylor Sutton added three assists.
Harrison (1-2) will travel to Kell today.
