Local police are still trying to identify two drivers who reportedly hit a Marietta woman while she was trying to cross North Marietta Parkway on Saturday night.

Rochelle Brown, 53, died at WellStar Kennestone Hospital Sunday after being hit by three cars just before 7 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of North Marietta Parkway and Allgood Road.

Officer Dave Baldwin with Marietta Police said they are asking for the public’s help in identifying two other drivers who hit Brown after the initial driver struck her.

“Evidently the first person who struck her remained at the scene, and then two other drivers struck her but kept driving,” he said.

Marietta Officer Michael Gardner said Brown sustained injuries internally and to her face, torso and head.

“We are reaching out to anyone who may have struck anything on North Marietta Parkway or anyone who isn’t sure what they struck,” he said.

Gardner said they are not releasing the name of the first driver at this time and that they don’t plan on pressing charges against him or her.

He said the driver wasn’t injured in the accident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Stephen Miller at (770) 794-5357.

PLEASE! who ever done to our family should be human enough to step to da plate. someone out there in this area know they have done to us, taken a precious life.

this happen more than the average person knows, now i know how they feel because it has happen to our family.

Living in FL., Here in Orlando they have had 168 hit-n-run icidents in this area!

Is whatever you doing in ur life so important u cant slow down, stop texting, putting on makeup, talking on the cell phone or stuffing face with food, or taking a persons life. This is evil, pure cruelty, but let it happen to someone you love in life, maybe u will understand

Whomever you are, turn yourselves in. Rochells's mother is a very close friend and she is very hurt not just at the loss of her daughter but at the lack of compassion these drivers showed her daughter. I pray that God convict your hearts and you will do the right thing. To everyone else, SLOW DOWN and be mindful that you must share the road with everyone!

Remind me again why we have a five lane road that cuts slap through the neighborhoods of downtown Marietta?

Is it so people can "buy bigger" out in West Cobb and Paulding? Maybe even Polk these days, depending on how far out we have built the five lanes?

Dear West Cobb and Paulding, I hope your bigger house in the country (and your massive debt) was worth it!
