Ronald Warren “Ronnie” Nichols, Jr., 42, of Powder Springs died Saturday, February 16, 2013. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Midway Presbyterian Church in Powder Springs with Rev. Dr. Wilson Smith and Dr. David Hall officiating. Interment will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. Mr. Nichols was a lifelong resident of Powder Springs. He was a 1989 graduate of McEachern High School in Powder Springs. Mr. Nichols was employed with Cobb County Fire Department for 12 years serving on the Honor Guard and Medical Operations Team. He also worked with Delta Airlines and Coca Cola. He attended West Ridge Church in Dallas. He was loved by many and well respected by family, friends and peers. Survivors include one son, Austin Nichols of Dallas; his mother, Roseann Nichols of Powder Springs; one brother, Joey Nichols and fiancé, Tonya Quellette of Powder Springs; paternal grandparents, Joe and Katie Nichols of Powder Springs; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Warren Nichols, Sr. Contributions may be made to Grace Covenant PCA Church Building Fund, 36 Bobby Dodd Road, Dallas, Ga. 31057. Family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home Macland Chapel in Powder Springs.
