Joan Schaffert Teague, 86 of Kennesaw died due to a long illness on Friday February 15, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Chapel in Marietta with Rev. Dean Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta, GA. Mrs. Teague was born in Georgetown Australia to Maxillian and Caroline Schaffert. She met and married her husband of 62 years in Brisbane Australia and came to the United States on the S.S. Mariposa as an Australian War Bride. Mrs. Teague was a manager of Sally Beauty Supply for 27 years in Marietta. Joan was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marietta. Survivors include her daughter, Caroline Teague Cook & her husband, Bobby of Kennesaw; two sons, James David Teague &his wife, Tammy of Marietta; John Teague of Dallas; three grandchildren, Melissa Cook of Kennesaw; Clinton Navy Teague and James David Teague, Jr. both of Marietta; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory in Marietta.
