Barrett Parkway Construction- EXPECT DELAYS



**Wed. March 27-Thurs., March 28. Contractor will be setting beams at bridge on southbound Barrett Pkwy. Southbound traffic will be detoured into the northbound lane with one lane open in each direction.



Northbound Barrett Parkway to Cobb Parkway (US 41). Expect periodic lane closures northbound between 9 a.m.-7 p.m. between Burnt Hickory Road and Cobb Parkway (US 41) with one lane remaining open as the contractor performs grading operations, bridge construction, wall construction, storm drainage work and asphalt paving.



Southbound Barrett Parkway (Cobb Place to Burnt Hickory Rd). Periodic lane closures Southbound from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. between Cobb Place and Burnt Hickory Road, with one lane open while the contractor continues grading operations, wall construction, storm drainage work and asphalt paving.

Old 41 Highway (at Barrett Parkway intersection). Periodic lane closures on Old 41 Highway from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. near the intersection with Barrett Parkway, with one lane while the contractor performs grading operations and wall construction.

Brownsville Road Resurfacing



Asphalt paving operations will include lane closures with one lane open at all times - are **scheduled next week for Brownsville Road from Hiram-Lithia Springs Road to Paulding County Line.



Casteel Road Sidewalks Construction

Ballard Drive to Dallas Highway (SR 120). Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with one lane remaining open, while the contractor continues grading, placing concrete curb and sidewalk, and storm drainage.

County Services Parkway Sidewalks Construction

Austell Road to Powder Springs Road. Expect periodic lane closures with one lane in both directions remaining open while the contractor places concrete sidewalk and driveways.

Floyd Road Construction-EXPECT DELAYS

Clay Rd to Hicks Road. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with one lane remaining while the contractor continues installing new water main, storm drainage, wall construction, and placing concrete.

Pedestrian Access

Temporary sidewalks are in place are in place to assist pedestrians while old sidewalks are removed and new sidewalks are constructed along the east side of Floyd Rd. Additional traffic barrels and directional signage are in place to assist pedestrians needing access to existing CCT bus stops on the west side of Floyd. All existing CCT bus stops will be maintained during construction. Pedestrian paths may be temporarily relocated during short-duration closures as construction continues. When needed, contractors may assist/escort pedestrians through the work zone.

Jiles Road Construction

**Fri. evening, March 29-Sat., March 30. Contractor will be paying overnight at the intersection of Jiles Road and Old 41.

Cobb Parkway to CSX Railroad Bridge. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with one lane remaining open, while the contractor performs asphalt paving, wall construction, and utility work.

Ledford Drive Drainage Construction

Ledford Drive. The contractor will continue the construction of a new culvert. Ledford Drive is closed, but access is available in both directions.

Little Willeo Road Sidewalks Construction



Karls Gate Drive to Lake Fjord Pass. Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with one lane remaining open while the contractor continues grading, and water main installation.



Lower Roswell Road Construction

Davidson Road to Timber Ridge Road. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. between Davidson Road and Willow Point Parkway with one lane open for your commute.

Mabry Road Drainage Construction- Road to be closed April 5-14

Project includes a new pipe associated drainage structures across Mabry Rd. This project will result in closing Mabry Rd at this location from April 5 (after 6pm) through April 14.

May 2013 New Chastain Road Westbound Bridge Replacement

In May 2013, Cobb County DOT is scheduled to begin work replacing the westbound bridge on New Chastain Rd. over Noonday Creek. This will result in closing the westbound lanes for four months, or longer, beginning this summer. Westbound traffic will be detoured to the eastbound bridge, which will provide one lane in each direction during construction. Additional detour information will be made available at a public information meeting from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., Thursday, May 2, at St. Andrews Methodist Church, 3455 Canton Rd. Marietta, GA. The public is invited to attend.

May 2013 Paper Mill Road Bridge Replacement



Beginning the day after school lets out in May 2013, Cobb County DOT will begin work on replacing the bridge and adding a pedestrian bridge over Sope Creek on Paper Mill Road. The new bridge will include a six foot sidewalk on the south side, providing access to the National Park Service trails. This project will result in closing Paper Mill Road at the bridge for approximately four months beginning once school breaks for the summer. Signed detour routes will be provided during construction.



Old Paper Mill Drive Drainage Construction

Old Paper Mill Drive – Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29

Contractor will be forming and pouring concrete headwall.

Shiloh Road/Shallowford Road Construction

Wade Green Road to Canton Road. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with one lane open while the contractor installs curb, water main, and storm drainage between Wade Green Road and Bells Ferry Road.

Skip Spann Connector (Busbee-Frey Connector)

This proposed project is a new bridge over I-75 that connects Frey Road to Busbee Drive just north of Chastain Road. A roundabout is proposed at the intersection of the Skip Spann Connector and Busbee Drive. Additional information will be made available at a Public Information Open House (PIOH) which will be held 5-7pm Tuesday April 16, 2013, at Kaiser Permanente, 750 TownPark Lane, Kennesaw, GA. The public is invited to attend.

Wicks Valley Drive Drainage Construction

Wicks Valley Drive. The contractor will continue installing erosion control and clearing. Construction on pipe and headwall will begin.
