Walter O. “Bud” Apt, Jr. passed away on his 66th birthday at Kennestone Hospital after a short illness. His quick wit and sage wisdom are without equal. He retired after 33 years with the State of Georgia Family & Children’s Services. He will be missed by his sons Billy Apt and wife Haley, Danny Shipman and wife April, and daughter Tammy Shipman plus his five grandchildren. He also leaves his five sisters, Cinda, Sue, Anne, Melissa, and Katy, and several nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to his former wife Betty Apt for her constant friendship and devotion. A memorial service will be held at Southern Funeral at Cheatham Hill Cemetery. Please call 770-424-1111 for service information.
