“We are the best kept pizza secret in Atlanta,” said owner Steve Collins.
Open now for 15 years, the restaurant is located at 497 Cobb Parkway South in Marietta (next to Hodge Army Navy).
“Baby Tommy’s serves authentic N.Y. style pizza. We’ve always been regarded for being the best in Atlanta for authentic N.Y. style pizza,” he said.
What makes pizza New York style? Collins, who grew up in the restaurant industry, said the crust of N.Y. pizza is thin. Plus, New York pizza is large.
“It’s generally a bigger pizza. Our pizzas are 18 to 20 inches.”
At Baby Tommy’s, you can order by the slice or enjoy the whole pie. Either way, you won’t go away hungry. “We have huge portions and reasonable prices,” said Collins, the third owner of the establishment. Tommy, the original owner, came to Marietta to attend Life University. Tommy sold the business to his cousin who sold to Collins.
Pizzas at Baby Tommy’s are displayed pizzeria-style in windows where guests can choose what they want.
Pastas, sandwiches, calzones, strombolis and salads are also available.
“We are obviously known for our pizza but we have killer sandwiches,” Collins said. Customers can choose from a long list of items such as Meatball Parmigiano, Philly Cheesesteak, Pastrami Pleaser or Classic Reuben.
Everything at Baby Tommy’s is made fresh daily.
“We make our dough fresh every day. We make our sauce fresh every day. The dough rises for 24 hours. The sauce sits for two days, so it gets a nice flavor. We use top quality ingredients,” said Collins, who moved to Vinings from New Orleans after living all over the US while serving in the military.
“It’s the quality of the food that keeps people coming back,” Collins said.
