Richard Leroy Piper, 59, of Marietta, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on November 13, 2012. He was the beloved, son of Margaret Louise Kazuk, of St. Cloud, Florida and the brother of Karen Marie Rogers, of Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Leroy Piper and sister, Judith Louise Thomas. Born in St. Mary’s Pennsylvania on November 16, 1952, Rick was a graduate of Cameron County High School, class of 1970. Rick was skilled in the production of interior sign development and manufacturing. He was employed by Peachtree Business Products at the time of his death, prior to that he was partnered with his lifelong friend Mark Hayden in their local business, Signmark Graphics, for over 15 years. Rick moved to Atlanta, Georgia and began his sign career with Apco Signs in 1975. He was well regarded by all of his fellow colleagues and partners and will be greatly missed. Rick had a lifelong love of music and was an accomplished producer of music video and recordings. He had many friends throughout the local music community who will always remember his skills and companionship. A tribute to Rick’s life will be held Saturday January 26th at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Medford-Peden Funeral Home, at which time friends are invited to share their memories.
